Lesson 1 of Post Modernism Theory Notes

Along with my notes there is a sheet that was handed out, with media theorists on which explains their Post Modernism theories.

notes from what I understood Post Modernism to be;

• its like an escape from escapism,
• The message isn't as important as the method that the message is portrayed to the viewer/reader etc         (The method of telling a story is more important than the story being told)
• You have to learn the boundaries of  'Categories'  to make sense and understand which categories items should be categorized into.
• Everything, we experience, we experience 2nd hand. (e.g. from watching films, TV, reading books/magazines etc. (n2s this is 2nd hand, as you have seen/read it before so you can compare against it so you have experienced it 2nd hand as you read/saw it first)
